Motivation for Adding Texas into the United States

Texas was finally annexed on December 29th, 1845. While the United States denied Texas' offers of annexation, President John Tyler was the first one to actively work on obtaining Texas. Many people debated annexation, and while there were many benefits, there were many disadvantages.
