Importance of Texas Today

Texas is one of the most important states today. Its size allows it to be one of the biggest producers of natural resources. It is the leading producer of oil and crude oil in the US in past years, along with being the largest producer of sheep, hay, cattle, and cotton in the United States. Along with this, Texas has added a huge portion of land to the United States and a huge number of people. Without Texas, the United States would be a much smaller and less populous country. Finally, Texas has been the site of many historic events. The Apollo 11 was launched from the Johnson Space Center, in Houston. Overall, Texas has been a valuable state to the United States.
